Senior Care Costs In Austin—Higher Than State Average

The costs in senior care in Austin have surpassed the Texas average in all categories according to recent reports.  Native senior citizens are paying an average of $13,000 per year in exchange for an adult day care.  This is much higher than what the state requires which is only $7,500, as declared by the 2011 Cost of Care Survey by Genworth Financial.  A private room in a nursing home in Austin soared to $73,000 and $54,750 for shared per year compared to the state average of $60,225 and $46,355 respectively.  Some of the results of the survey came from over 15,500 long term care providers in 437 districts all over the country.
